Polo Blanco - My Fur Child

by Eve
(New Jersey)

Polo is a nine month old Bichon Frise.

I got him at an animal shelter when he was only 9 weeks old. Polo is my very first pet as an adult.

I was looking to get a Yorkie that I saw posted on the shelter's website. So I went to the foster home that was taking care of a few puppies so that they wouldn't have to be in kennels, so I could see the Yorkie.

That is where I found Polo! He was sleeping between the kitchen wall and the trash can of the foster family’s house.

I don’t think any of the other families that were there to adopt, noticed that there was a litle Bichon Frise puppy sleeping there--but I did, and I asked to see him. I fell in love with him.

There was no doubt in my mind that he was coming home with me, and I was not about to leave without him.

Polo has made my life complete; I love him dearly and since I don't have children yet, he has definitely become my lil furchild.

Polo, little Bichon Frise, is so loving and playful; he is such a joy to be around. He is not shy at all; he loves belly rubs and playing in the leaves now that it is Fall season.

I was so lucky to have found him!

BEST DOGS EVER!!
by: Anonymous

You don't know how lucky you and Polo are to have found each other.!! I have two Bichon's that are 16 years old.

I did have a third, but unfortunately lost him to stomach cancer this past summer :( . They are truly the greatest dogs ever.

We got a new puppy that is a Shichon (mom was a shi tzu and dad was a bichon) and he is proving to be an amazing little puppy. So smart and loving..we just adore him.

It's really easy to spoil a Bichon, so be careful!! They are extremely smart and extremely loving and loyal. You can look forward to many many happy years with your little friend.

I do want to tell you that they can be subject to allergies. One of my boys has had allergies his whole life, some of which we had no control over, as they are environmental, like trees, etc.

But we did a process of elimination with his food and for that past 14 years he has had very very minimal problems. He is on a limited ingredient diet with no grains at all.

Your pup may have no trouble at all as my other two did not, just wanted to give you a heads up about that issue. Enjoy Polo, he will be your best bud for a lifetime.
